You've probably noticed that we are in the era of "Peak TV" -- the second coming of the Golden Age of television. With advancements in streaming and binge-watching culture, screen stories are being sought after and consumed at a rate we've never seen before.  Exactly how many is that? Try almost 600 scripted shows in 2022.

Why is that great news for you? Because every one of those writers rooms needs to be staffed with multiple writers, with writer's assistants -- with people being PAID! This Chicago Filmmakers two-day workshop will give you the basics required to go from idea stage, to outlining, to finishing (post-class) either a 30-minute comedy pilot or 60-minute drama.  This will be a virtual class including lectures given at Columbia College-Chicago and Second City-Chicago. It will also include a live workshop of readings and critiques of student scripts with the goal being for you to build a solid first draft of your original pilot script.
