Resurrecting the long and noble tradition of itinerant cinema, Los Angeles-based Echo Park Film Center is touring the United States to commune with cinephiles across the land and share the power of the moving image. For their stop at Chicago Filmmakers, they will be screening a “best of" selection of short and experimental films made at the Echo Park Film Center from 2001 - 2011. The program will include The Sound We See: A Los Angeles City Symphony (2010), and This is the LA River (2008), among other short works. In addition, EPFC staff members, Lisa Marr and Paolo Davanzo, will play their home cooked brand of hobo rock to silent Super 8 movies, and Chicago Filmmakers will help them blow out the candles for the EPFC’s tenth anniversary.
