This course will meet in-person weekly on Tuesdays, November 7 to December 19 from 6:30 - 9:30PM. There is no class on Thanksgiving week.

In this course, we’ll teach you the basics of documentary film production.  Through hands-on exercises, we’ll learn the basics of documentary cinematography, sound recording, and interview techniques. Through lectures, we’ll learn about opening up access, casting your projects, and we’ll unpack the ethics around making documentaries in the rapidly evolving streaming landscape. By the end of this course, you’ll have a comprehensive introduction to professional documentary production.
