This class will be held in person at Chicago Filmmakers on Thursdays, April 11 to May 30, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM Central.

The goal of this course is to provide filmmakers with foundational knowledge in line producing, allowing them to successfully plan independent productions as well as articulate these plans to potential collaborators or employers. In addition to structural discussions on executing an independent production, this course will introduce students to programs and online resources that assist in budgeting and scheduling. Various guest filmmakers will be brought to class to discuss unique challenges and solutions for producing independently, specifically when it comes to budgeting and scheduling.

Tech Requirements: A limited number of course days will require a working laptop or tablet - NOT a cell phone. If you do not have access to a personal laptop or tablet, we can plan ahead to provide you with one.
