Queer as German Folk Series - Prinz in Hölleland (Prince In Hell)

Directed by: Michael Stock

Celebrating 35 Years of Edition Salzgeber, Co-presented by the Goethe Institute Chicago

Director: Michael Stock, 1993, Germany, 89 min
Set soon after the reunification of West and East Germany, PRINZ IN HOLLELAND (PRINCE IN HELL) documents the crumbling alternative scene during this period. Focused on the disintegrating relationship between a political activist and a heroin addict, PRINCE IN HELL serves as a haunting snapshot of an anarchic gay reality that has been irretrievably lost. The score was created by Alexander Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten.
