Peace Has No Borders, (dir. Deb Ellis and Denis Mueller) will have its Chicago premiere on Saturday, March 24th!
Between 1965-1973, over 50,000 Americans went to Canada, refusing to participate in the Vietnam War. During the Iraq War, a new generation of veterans crossed the border seeking relief and refuge from serving in what they viewed as an unjust and immoral war. Peace Has No Borders follows former soldiers, caught between two countries as they fight to remain in an increasingly conservative Canada.
Peace Has No Borders is about resistance to war. In the course of the film, certain truths about the power of small acts of courage are revealed. If there’s anything we’ve learned through making our films, it’s respect for the tenacity required by those who choose to challenge the status quo. We are happy to premiere at Chicago Filmmakers beautiful new theatre.
