In its third year, The Chicago Digital Media Production Fund awarded a total of $100,000 in grants to twelve outstanding Chicago digital media productions. A project of Voqal and administered by Chicago Filmmakers, the goal of the fund is to support socially progressive media arts projects intended for online distribution and is intended to support artists with varying levels of experience; both to recognize accomplished individuals, as well as to provideopportunities for emerging and young artists. This screening will present selections from the completed 2014 projects including Battle Flag by Logan Jaffe & Zachary Sigelko, Block Zombie by Leon Kelsick, Drifting Towards the Crescent by Laura Stewart, For the Records by Anuradha Rana and Doris C. Rusch, Juke Joint by Benjamin Jaffe, Half-Life of War by Kyle Henry, McTucky Fried High by Robert Carnilius, Muslim in the City by Fahima Mohamood, Natural Life (Interactive Online Archive) by Tirtza Even, The School Project from Executive Producers Bob Hercules & Gordon Quinn, Sex Offender Laws Impact Youth by JoAnne Smith, and Chicagoland by Manual Cinema & Ben Kauffman. Directors will be in attendance to discuss their work and ongoing project initiatives.
