Festival Co-Director Hannah Piper Burns & Filmmaker Katya Yakubov In Person Saturday!

Over the past three years Hannah Piper Burns (with festival co-director Ben Popp) has made Experimental Film Festival Portland a vital and massively fun event. Burns says of this Best Of program: "So here it is: my EFFPortland shortlist. My enduring favorite favorites. I am only one programmer, and this selection, while thoughtfully assembled, is certainly no reflection on the quality and value of the rest of our beloved EFFPortland alumni. In making this list I tried to show a range of forms, from dance film to documentary and portrait of place to glitch art, as well as create a tempo in viewing that can connect the pieces across their disparate origins. These films are earnest, with an edge. They privilege rhythm. They are thoughtfully, painstakingly crafted. It's my sincere hope that you can find something new here to love as much as I do."
