Volunteers and Internships
Chicago Filmmakers offers volunteer and internship opportunities in several programs.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Chicago Filmmakers is offering a Program Development Internship for the summer of 2012. The intern will work directly with the Program Director at the Chicago Filmmakers office in Andersonville. This internship will focus on developing audiences for the summer Screening Series and programming the screening schedule for the fall term.
Candidates should have a background and interest in film, public relations, and event management. Experience with social networking, graphic design, and film programming are helpful. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Hours: 12 - 16 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm. Flexible schedule.
ONION CITY STREET OUTREACH NINJAS
Chicago Filmmakers and the Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival (yes, it’s that time of the year again!) are seeking volunteers to help out as promotion and publicity ninjas – mysteriously appearing at local hotspots in their own neighborhoods (and elsewhere) and posting, distributing, scotch taping, thumb tacking, with lightning speed, posters and fliers for the fest (okay, authorized locations only!).
These street-team ninjas will be a key part of the grassroots marketing for Onion City – striking at bookstores, coffee shops, record stores, film-type places, video stores, etc. Anywhere a poster of flier can be displayed (again, authorized locations only!).
We want to get the word out not only to people who are already experimental film fans, but also to those who don’t know that they love it yet.
And if the knowledge that you are helping the festival isn’t reward enough, we’ll be offering complimentary admission to Onion City screenings for those who can help. What a deal!
Contact Patrick at onioncity@chicagofilmmakers.org if you would like to help/find out more.
VOLUNTEERS

We have ongoing needs in the following areas: box office, graphic design, publicity, data entry, general office, research, programming, street festivals, equipment maintenance, project management, and print traffic. If you have talents, interest or experience in any of these areas, we would love to hear from you!
