Tied House Film Festival
FREE ADMISSION!
Chicago-based Drinking and Writing Theater has been exploring the connections between creativity and alcohol since 2002. They’ve successfully paired beer with theater, writing contests, a radio show, and an art festival, so why not film? The Tied House Film Festival will be the first ever film festival devoted to the art of drinking. New short films from local and regional filmmakers will be served, all loosely based on the five stages of intoxication: euphoria, excitement, confusion, stupor, and coma. The films may not be about alcohol intoxication per se, but will explore the state of intoxication however personally defined.
Featured filmmakers include: Jason Beaumont, Sean Benjamin, James Choi, Mike Finch, Maria Gigante, Seth Henrikson, Todd Lillethun, Steve Mosqueda, Jack Newell, Vincent Singleton, Victor Spatafora, Josef Steiff, Renato Velarde, Marie Ullrich, and Larry Underwood.
The screenings will take place on June 3 at Chicago Filmmakers, and on June 4 at the Drinking & Writing Theater at Haymarket Pub & Brewery, 737 W. Randolph St.
