Screening Series
Chicago Filmmakers' weekly Screening Series is looking for new work on a year-round basis. We are particularly interested in experimental films, feature length and short documentaries, animation, and short narratives. Other genres such as feature narratives, music videos, student work, and live film/video/multi-media performance works are also accepted. Programming is often organized by theme or genre, so please check our website for calls for entries to see our needs for upcoming shows, but we also accept more general submissions. There is no entry fee. Projection formats include DVD, Blu-ray, MiniDV, Betacam SP, 16mm, and Super-8mm.
Dyke Delicious: May Shorts
Dyke Delicious and Chicago Filmmakers are looking for short, lesbian-themed films for the annual May Shorts program. The Dyke Delicious Screening Series is in its ninth season presenting work by local and international filmmakers, and the May Shorts program has been a celebrated annual tradition since the beginning. All genres are welcome. Films should have a maximum run time of 20 minutes.
Deadline: April 27, 2012.
Short Story Film Showcase
Chicago Filmmakers will be featuring new short narrative work for the SHORT STORY FILM SHOWCASE in April 2012. Narrative work of all kinds will be accepted! Films should be less than 20 minutes in length (the shorter - the better!) and completed within the last three years. Formats include 16mm, 8mm, Beta SP, miniDV, DVD, and Blu-Ray. Preview copies should be sent on DVD. Deadline is March 23, 2012.
Submission Guidelines
For all submissions, send a preview DVD with documentation: description of the work, artist and distributor contact information, list of previous screenings, format and run time. DVDs will not be returned unless accompanied by a SASE. Electronic submissions (links to video uploads on Vimeo, You Tube, etc.) are also accepted. Indicate which series to which you are submitting on the envelope.
