Location Sound Recording and Editing
Obtaining clean audio is often the Achilles' heel to many low budget productions. This course will cover audio recording techniques using professional microphones and digital audio recorders. Learn how to obtain high-quality sound for a variety of applications, such as musical performances, interviews, sound effects, and dialogue for documentary and narrative formats. Topics such as microphone choice, booming, monitoring, sound physics, location problems, mixing, and alternative creative tools will be covered. Students will record and edit an audio project using digital audio recorders and Final Cut Pro.
